Inverness-based solicitor Angus MacLeod won the blue riband event for singers at the Royal National Mòd earlier this month.

RESIDENTS in Staffin are being invited to attend an information event about a scheme which sees trained volunteers respond to emergency calls, prior to the arrival of an ambulance. 
The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS), in partnership with Staffin Community Council, is hosting the event about the Community First Responders initiative next month.

CHILDREN from Staffin and Kilmuir swept the boards at the Royal National Mod on Monday (13.10) winning FOUR competitions.
The talented youngsters finished the first day of children’s competition in Inverness with an impressive haul of silverware.
Youngsters from Bun-sgoil Stafainn and Kilmuir Primary teamed up as Clann Thròndairnis to win the folk group category.

A SNOW-clad Staffin has provided the backdrop for a pop star’s new video.
Upcoming Merseyside singer-songwriter Jennifer Davies has released “Choke” which was shot on Skye earlier this year.
It was shot back in February at several locations with Staffin Beach and Sartle, providing shots of the Quiraing, featuring prominently.
The singer and her crew stayed several nights in Staffin.
The song’s video, which is on her debut EP “Lapse of Time”, has already had 4,300 views on You Tube.

A CLUTCH of Staffin children are in the Highland Capital today (13.10) eyeing further success at the Royal National Mòd 2014.
The youngsters are in Inverness, along with their Trotternish neighbours from Kilmuir, to compete in a variety of competitions including singing and recitals as the children’s section of the national festival starts proper.

IT WAS lights, camera and action… as the spotlight turned on Gaelic’s starring role in the Staffin Ecomuseum.
