Known as the Dinosaur Capital of Scotland, Skye’s rich Jurassic past has been unearthed in the last few decades and new discoveries are still being made all the time, including a dolphin-like species which was announced earlier this year.

The Staffin Dinosaur Museum was established by Dugald Ross in 1976 when he was only a teenager. The species he identified in the area include Stegosaurus, Megalosaurus, Cetiosaurus, Hadrosaurus, and Ceolophysis.

The Hungry Gull was an instant hit with residents of An Taobh Sear, delighting the community with imaginative and exciting meals to see us through the long winter nights. Organic Sea Harvest is the only Salmon Farm in Scotland to solely produce organic Salmon. Their cages are located in two sites off the coast of An Taobh Sear. Their exposed positions provide the ideal conditions for producing organic Salmon, with high flow/water exchange rates, stable temperatures, salinity and dissolved oxygen levels all playing a part in this.

Storr Glass Studio hand crafts individual pieces of stained and kiln fired glass from their studio in Marishader. With a focus on creating bespoke products, inspired by the natural surroundings of the Trotternish Peninsula, and using recycled glass whenever possible.
